Recycling

One of the most broad methods of natural environment protection. It is aimed at limiting the usage of natural resources and at decreasing the amount of waste. Recycling – the use of waste materials or re-use of previously used materials in order to produce new goods (eg: waste paper to produce paper, used tyres as fuel in cement plants). Recycling is very important in the natural environment protection strategy.

According to Waste bill of 27th April 2001 (Dz. U. z 2001 r. Nr 62, poz. 628) recycling is understood as: “such re-use of materials which relies on repeated reprocessing of substances or materials included in waste or in production process in order to obtain a substance or materials intended for its original use or any other use, including the organic recycling and excluding energy recycling.

The principle of recycling is to maximise the re-usage of the same materials with a consideration given to minimization of expenditure for their recycling, which allows to protect natural resources used to produce them in the first place as well as the resources needed in later processing.
